Katja is a professional photographer who lives in Chapel Hill in the western suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Katja has travelled the world for over 10 years, and has lived in Brisbane for the last six years. She decided to settle with her husband and two children in the wonderful sunshine state of Queensland, and this year Katja and her family are very much looking forward to becoming true Australian citizens.

Katja has always loved taking pictures of anything and everything, so at the start of 2013, as soon as both her children were at school, Katja decided to turn her favourite hobby in to a full-time job.

During her time living in Brisbane, Katja has met many interesting people, as well as making many great friends, All of whom have made her and her family feel very welcome.  So much so, that Katja was inspired to focus more on taking pictures of people, and particularly children. Katja loves capturing the emotions and expressions of people of all ages. Through the photos that she takes, Katja will show the exact spirit of the moment, and how much fun people have had, and for her, this is what is most important.

Katja believes that mutual enjoyment and having fun at the photo session will give much better results, hence her decision to call her business ‘kiddelig.photography’, which is a traditional word from Hamburg meaning ‘ticklish’.

When asked to highlight how she most enjoys to take photos, Katja has said, ”Personally I prefer to take pictures outside, using natural light, but most importantly is to photograph my clients wherever they feel most comfortable, happy, and relaxed”.  One of her clients, Louise, says,” You can see and feel Katja’s own enjoyment on the final pictures. It is fantastic!”

Katja is both very pleased and excited about how her photography business is progressing – “ Given that I have always loved photography, yet have never actually studied it, I am thrilled with what I have achieved so far. And when my clients are very happy with my work – for me that is one of the best feelings in the world!!”
